What is a reiki healing session?

Reiki is a powerful yet subtle energy that is inside all living things, it’s called ‘Universal life force energy.’ As a result of physical, or emotional trauma/stress in our lives, we can develop energetic blocks and imbalances, that over time can lead to mental and physical illness.  Reiki can be used to clear and release these blockages by increasing the flow of energy to bring the mind, body, and spirit back into balance.

Reiki helps with stress by releasing the emotions/beliefs and experiences that caused the stress in the first place. (Stress is the body’s reaction to harmful situations or a major challenge, whether it is a real danger or simply perceived). We are vulnerable to external circumstances like work, family obligations, money and relationship issues because of the feelings/emotions/beliefs/ we hold inside ourselves. What we hold inside of us gives us our perception of the outside world.

How Reiki Benefits Me?

Reiki creates a feeling of deep relaxation in the body, and this accelerates the body’s natural healing process, releasing feelings of stress and anxiety and improving overall wellbeing.

The Reiki Healing Session

In my reiki healing sessions, I combine the traditional Usui Reiki and I also incorporate crystals into the Reiki healing session.  

I will channel Universal energy while placing my hands on or above specific points of the body. 

During the session, the most common reaction to receiving Reiki is a feeling of peace & relaxation, with an immediate release of all stresses and worries. Some clients feel a light pressure in a particular area as the energy is being released.

After receiving just one session, clients have experienced energy blockages lifting from them during the treatment. 

Shifts in their life continue even after our Reiki session and beyond our time together. 

Some things must be experienced in order to truly understand as many things cannot be described in words alone, and can only be felt.  Experience it for yourself with reiki energy healing.

How to prepare for a reiki healing session?

The beauty of Reiki is that it can go anywhere at any time. Distance Reiki Healing sessions are very popular especially now in the current climate where it is necessary to conduct Sessions online. 

In advance of the session, you can email me a photo if you like (taradohertyc@innerlifehealing.com), and a few details about yourself:  name, age, location, and the intention of what you want the session to support. For example, you can request help with a challenge, goal, or physical issue.

Please Note: I will email you when I start and finish the session. (If you want to include a verbal consultation by phone or online, book the 60-minute Distance Reiki Healing Session option to allow time for this.)

I prepare for the session the same way as an in-person treatment. At the appointed time, I will focus on you and channel Reiki energy.

I will share with you by email what I felt during the session and I will also follow up with you  the next day.

Find a relaxing, quiet place where you will be undisturbed for about an hour. Create a relaxing atmosphere with soft ambient music and incense if you like. During reiki, it is better to lie on your back.
Relax for a few moments before the beginning of reiki. You can meditate or pray on the benefits you would like to derive from your reiki, or set an intention for the session.

How will I feel during the Reiki Session?

People often comment how comforting they find the experience of reiki to be. An interesting study reported that recipients frequently feel that they are hovering in a threshold state of consciousness, simultaneously aware of their surroundings and deeply relaxed.

Some people fall into a deep, sleep like meditative state. Sometimes the experience of reiki is dramatic, while for other people, the first session in particular may be uneventful, although they somehow feel better afterward. The most common experience is an almost immediate release of stress and a feeling of deep relaxation

How will I feel after the Reiki Session?

Following the reiki, although people typically feel refreshed, sometimes they notice feeling more tired than usual in the evening. This is not viewed as an adverse reaction, but rather as the body’s natural healing response, something to be heeded. People commonly report a sense of calm, mental clarity, and sleeping well after the reiki.

How will I feel following my Reiki Session?

Reiki helps individuals regain their unity and feel a sense of well-being. In general, this improvement is felt in the whole body, while the manifestations of ill-being diminish or disappear. 

It sometimes happens that the state of the physical body does not improve, while a deeper healing is initiated.

How often should I get Reiki treatments in order to receive the maximum benefits?

Reiki  works by restoring energetic balance in the mind, body and spirit. During a typical session, these out-of-balance things tend to rise to the surface for you to look at and let go. Most often, these are deeply rooted judgements and perceptions that we have been carrying around with us our entire lives. Multiple sessions may be required in order to fully experience the benefit of Reiki and clear these energetic blockages, but how often depends on you entirely. Most of my clients feel a regular 3-4 sessions at the beginning is suffice and then prefer a monthly Reiki session works for them in order to keep them balanced and aligned.
